Haydée Milanés was born on September 28th, 1980. She initiated her musical studies when she was 6 years old, at Manuel Saumell Conservatory, in Havana, where she began studying piano. Then she continued studying Choir Direction. Later on she graduated from the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory where she studied Musical Theory. Afterwards, she improves her studies of popular harmony with the professor Pedro Jústiz (Peruchín). Her first appearance in an album occurred in 1990, in Canto de la Abuela, of Pablo Milanés.

Since 1999 she integrated Ernán López Nussa Quartet. In 2000, she participated in the Heineken Festival, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Her discography took off in 2004 with the album Haydée with songs written and arranged by Descemer Bueno, who was also the producer. This record was followed by others, for example, Haydée Milanés en vivo(2008), in which she shared the stage with Santiago Feliú, David Torrens, Aldo López Gavilán, among others well known artists. In her now considerable discography the discs that excel are those dedicated to the work of Marta Valdés and Pablo Milanés respectively.

Her presentations in Mexico, Spain, Colombia and Peru are a sample of the Cuban repertory that she defends also the in Cuban places where she performs.  She has won various Cubadisco and Lucas Awards.
