Miriam Ramos is a singer, composer, guitarist, announcer and actress who began her career in the Polyphonic Choir of Havana, conducted by Serafín Pro. Accompanied by the master Frank Emilio Flyn, she made her debut as a soloist in the Museum of Fine Arts on May, 1964. Since that moment she is considered a defender of the songbook of this part of the world. Her rescue work is present in her multi-awarded discography. She was nominated to the Latin Grammy with her album La canción cubana. La Bella Cubana, Artist of Merit of the UNEAC (Cuban National Union of Writers and Artists) and the National Culture Award are some of the distinctions that she has received during her career. Her repertory includes authors such as: Ernesto Lecuona, Benny Moré, Marta Valdés, Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés, among other essential creators.
As an announcer she has shined in different radio shows: No hacen falta alas y La esquina del Jazz. For her work in this media she has won many Caracol Prizes. As an actress she is always remembered for the TV series Algo más que soñar.
